Well guys ive stalked to internet for help for my issues alot since getting my HP data vault and have found little to no info on the issues i have with hosting game servers and websites.
so here is a run down of great apps to get on a HP media smart data vault or other blind server (blind meaning it has no screen connection built in) easily i will show you how to
*run bat files
*run .exe files
*edit txt files
*open any form of a file and do remote desktop
*run a tribes 2 server
*run a minecraft server
*run a call of duty server (although i do not reccomend doing it)
*host as many websites as you care to host
* ghetto rig this thing to work for all of your other needs
more info will be coming soon but so far thats all ive done on mine a great accomplishment though but still not enough for everyone
in the weeks to come i hope to
*get a working install of apache server
*get a working install of resin server
*get a working install of gulp ubuntu server under duel boot (i really do not reccomend this cause u can perma fuck your server big time if you dont know what you are doing)
*get a a source game server running
*figuring out a system for file accsess from remote drives via your servers webpage
* i will find a system for having multiple external drives attached ( i have a usb expander that expands 4 slots from 1 so (thats 8 tb of additional storage right there not even encluding another seperator and onboard usb ports)
*putting in more drives and switching them out without having to worry bout anything ( there will be instructional videos for the advanced tasks like installation of a second OS)
thats about it for now the links wll be here for programs that are needed/reccomended for alot of these tasks
